The song that I have chosen to use for my music video is ‘Act
My Age’ by Hoodie Allen and is mainly listened to by Indie/rap fans. The video
is aimed for people around his Hoodie Allen’s age I the video (teens aged
17-19) but is watched by younger age groups. This video is from the perspective
of the artist. As he is male, this could make more males want to watch,
however, the song could be aimed to both genders as its saying how he wants to
act like a normal teen. I think that the percentages for this would be 55% male
– 45% female. This song would be targeted to all races and ethnicities because
every teenager has behaved in a childish or non-teenager way before. The people
who enjoy this song the most would be the people who can relate to the song.
The song is talking about childish teens; therefore, the people who relate to
this song would probably be getting D-C grades in school. The audience for this
video would also be quite ambitious because this genre of songs isn't enjoyed
by the people who want to go into things like financial work. As many teenagers
can relate to this song, it is listened to by many public citizens. The
generation of teens today use advanced technology like smart phones and
tablets.
Brand/Lifestyle:
The audience won’t be very classy and are more likely to
drink beer rather than wine or any other alcohol. One of their daily drinks
would probably an energy drink like Lucozade or Red Bull. Most of their
technology is likely to be branded by Apple, Android or Microsoft. The
audience’s opinion on certain magazines varies and if they were to prefer a
magazine, there’s a high probability that their favourite magazine would be
Vibe Magazine. The preferences for clothing brands would be Nike, Supply &
Demand, and Adidas. Their Television screens would stay on the music channel or
perhaps a show that they could relate to. The audience may also be interested
in musical artists such as Ed Sheeran and Enrique Iglesias.
